Naypyidaw was built over a seven years period with the civil servants moving into their new offices throughout 2005 and 2006. “Naypyidaw” means “ROYAL CAPITAL” of “Seat of King” and although it is young capital . It has much to offer a visitor whether on business or on holiday . Built on a plain which sits between two ranges of hills ; the Bago Yoma and the Shan Yoma, the city has a marvelous backdrop. Luckily , the area is surrounded by three reservoirs so there is no water shortage , this also means , due to hydro- electricity, the power is not a problem.
Thuwanna Theikdi Stadium is the biggest stadium in Myanmar .It has capacity of 30,000 spectators. We have successfully hosted opening and closing ceremonies of 27th South East Asian Games in Dec 2013 and 7th ASEAN Para Games in Jan 2014 in this stadium.
The first impression of the city is the size-huge spaces and huge buildings . There is still much construction under way but that is needed a capital . The city is now in place; the government buildings ,housing, schools, hospitals, markets, shopping centers, hotels, recreational centers, sports grounds and stadiums, cinemas and for both residents and visitors recreational things to do including several golf courses.
